What does Xita do?

Xita turns speech into polished text inside the Mac app you are already using. It also lets you personalize names and corrections and review private usage insights.

How do I dictate?

Hold Option-Space, speak, then release. Xita transcribes locally, shows the editable result, and copies it so you can paste with Command-V.

Does core dictation require the internet?

No. The speech model is bundled inside Xita, so dictation works without a model download or cloud transcription service. iCloud sync and website forms require a network connection.

Does Xita save my recordings or transcripts?

No. Xita does not keep raw microphone audio or a transcript history after dictation completes.

What syncs through iCloud?

Custom vocabulary, correction rules, and usage metadata can sync through your private CloudKit database. Dictated audio and transcript text do not sync.

Can Xita learn names and uncommon words?

Yes. Add the result you want and the pronunciations Xita may hear. You can also create exact correction rules and edit either list at any time.

Which Macs are supported?

Xita requires an Apple-silicon Mac running macOS 26 or later.

How does pricing work?
