Press Control, speak, release. Xita pastes the text into the app you are already using.

Does it need the internet?

No. Speech recognition runs on your Mac, and your voice does not need a cloud round-trip.

Why is the download bigger than a tiny menu app?

Xita ships the speech model inside the Mac app so first launch does not have to wait on a model download.
